ADVANTAGES OF THE GROOVE
TUBE:
- No tube-wall thickness reduction
- Maintains all of the corrosion
allowances of the tube-wall thickness
- The internal "bump" will break up
laminar flow
- The groove profile does not include any
stress risers
GROOVE TUBE CHARACTERISTICS:
The groove tube has a small,
yet tightly controlled spiral bump on the inside
of the tube. The spiral bump is what creates the
turbulence and prevents laminar flow. This
turbulence creates even temperature across the
flow area, resulting in more heat transfer per
foot of tube.
GROOVE TUBE CONFIGURATIONS:
There are no standard groove
tube configurations. Each grooving process is
custom made to meet the specific tube OD, length
and heat transfer needs of the customer. By not
having standard groove configurations we are
free to design the groove configuration to meet
your exact needs.
- Many different materials can be grooved
- The groove can be made in various sizes
of tube OD & wall thickness
- The groove can have different heights
and profiles
- The groove can have various pitches
- Any number of groove helixes can be made
