The Result: The customer was continually supplied
with parts (made to the correct dimensions) to keep their production
line active.
The Delta t part, designed to fit into the customer's casing, was having
a hard time doing so. Unknown to Delta t or the customer, the fixture
used for making the part had slipped out of alignment and the parts were
slightly distorted.
The customer called Delta t and explained that they had parts that were
difficult to assemble and wanted to return them. Delta t immediately
arranged for three Delta t employees to go to the customer's site. They
spent two days reworking a sufficient number of parts to keep the
customer's production line active. The remainder of the parts were
returned to Delta t (at Delta t's expense), reworked to meet
specification and shipped to the customer.
The fabrication fixture was corrected to the proper size and a better
inspection gauge was made to detect any reoccurrence of this problem.
Delta t has another satisfied customer that is happy with the part and
extra effort made to "making it right!"
