The Result: The customer realized the
availability of a part of their specification at a price within their
budget.
When sitting in the office of a prospect's buyer, the Delta t project
engineer spotted a fabricated sheet metal piece. It could be described
as a fan folded strip of thin stainless steel sheet metal with each fold
embossed. It was fan folded much like children fan fold paper to make a
fan.
When asked what it was, the buyer said, "It is a heat exchange pack we
are looking at. Could you make this?" The quick reply of "Yes" resulted
in a project to first make tooling to manually create some parts and
then multiple machines to automate the process. One operator, minimizing
labor costs, ran the four machines used by the process.
All design, part machining and assembly were done by Delta t staff and
employees.
